I'm having my first Brady-esque evening since... well, since Brady. [Client] sent out a massive invite to [Client's Client] to start doing [Web-based Thing] today. And the response was about 5× what they expected. And they were all in the same time zone. And we hadn't updated the web server they're on yet, because they haven't done any big [Web-based Things] yet.
As they say in the old country: Aw, shit.
A quick run to Best Buy for 3GB of RAM didn't solve much of anything, so my coworker got to make a run to the computer store in Woodbridge to pick up server parts. I finally got everything assembled and got the RAID array dealt with at about 10:00.
I've installed Server 2003, and it's currently chewing on Service Pack 1. After that I get to install IIS, copy over a secure certificate, install [Web-based Thing's Software] and re-export [Web-based Thing's Data File] on the new server.
Then I have to make sure everything actually works. I'll probably be here till about 1:00 at best. And I still have to come in at 8:00 so I can tell [Client] that everything's ready to go. There better not be any complaints if I come in on Wednesday unshaved and unshowered.
Edit, 9:43 AM Wednesday: Finally got out of work at about 3:00, and now I'm back. Wheeeee...
