Swatch launched its "internet time" system on October 23, 1998. In 2018 I saw some stuff on Twitter about Swatch Beats being 20 years old. And since that was also my 42nd birthday I decided to code up a little current-beat display in Javascript.
I made a common extension to the beat system by including fractional beats for better resolution. A whole beat lasts about a minute and a half; dropping to tenths of beats offers nine-second resolution which is more precision than most people need.
